Mikel T. Rollins is a Seattle-based veteran of the Northwest music scene. He has performed at many local venues such as the Experience Music Project Liquid Lounge and Sky Church, the Mural Ampitheater and Flag Pavilion at the Seattle Center, the Town Hall, Benaroya Hall, the Concerts on the Pier at the Aquarium, the Seattle First Baptist Jazz Sundays, the Third Place Books concert series, 4th of July at Marymoor Park and Tacoma Waterfront park, the Portland Rose Festival, Bumbershoot and the Folklife Festival, among others. He has been a contributing member of many Blues, Jazz and Rock ensembles performing locally, spending much of the 80's and 90's doing various Seattle club dates with bands such as the Lonnie Williams Group, the Isaac Scott Blues Band, the Michael Powers Group, the Guarneri Underground, Dave Conant and the D-Rangers, Seduce and Betray, the Melvin Peterson Quartet, the Clarence Acox Group and the Hadley Caliman Ensemble, as well as leading his own Momentum Jazz Band and a blues jam group known as Elmo T. Hamhock and the Misbehavers. Most recently he has been performing with the Jim Basnight Band, touring throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Oregon and California. He appears on the latest disc by Jim, entitled "Recovery Room", on bass on many tracks, as well as some flute and saxophone features. Mikel is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist with facility on bass, upright bass, guitar, slide guitar, saxophone, flute, percussion, keyboard-piano and vocals. He enjoys a wide range of musical idioms and styles, from Baroque to Punk to Jazz to Pop, Folk, Soul, Rap (some), World, Reggae, Blues, Rock or whatever sounds good. He is known to be keen on the Rolling Stones, having attended three of their shows so far. Mikel does consider presentation and stage presence to be crucial aspects of a musical performance. "I always try to get through to the person who isn't quite ready to party" says Rollins; "It ought to be your high point of the day, if you can get to see some good music". Many of his listeners agree.

Sylvia Rollins played piano, cello and string bass growing up in Port Angeles and at the University of Washington. During the 80’s she played bass guitar in FYRE (“For Your Rockin’ Enjoyment”), a classic rock band which appeared weekly in Pioneer Square and worked in Alaska. In the 90’s, she played string bass and electric bass in H. B. Radke’s band which played society weddings and high profile corporate special event functions, and she also played festivals with Zephyr Jazz Band, as well as working as principal string bassist with the Sammamish Symphony. In addition to her present position with Momentum, she also sings and plays bass in a large, all woman band, Seduce & Betray (seduceandbetray.com), which specializes in jazz torch songs and light man bashing blues. She is also the bassist with the Jazz Beacons, which has a very eclectic repertoire including not only jazz but also old school R&B, blues, reggae, and rock. In addition, she plays piano for the Wednesday night prayer meeting at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she is also the tenor section leader of the Inspirational Chorus which has been featured annually for the “Gospel Christmas” program on the Seattle Symphony’s program. She is a founding member of the Soul Purpose Praise Team and Choir at St. Jude Catholic Church in Redmond. Sylvia adheres to the philosophy, “If it’s not fun, we won’t do it,” and believes in the positive emotional and spiritual power of music in people’s lives.

Gregg Robinson grew up in the Chicago area, where he studied with pianist Skip Green. Gregg played for many years in the “wedding band circuit” before moving to Seattle in 1985. He has played with big bands, small ensembles and combos, and has accompanied singers. In recent years, Gregg has done solo piano work for Argosy Cruises, restaurants, and private parties. Gregg has also composed incidental music and themes for theater productions, and played in cabaret shows. He lives and teaches piano in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood.

Mark Jelsing has worked professionally as a drummer-teacher in a wide variety of musical situations for over 35 years. Based in the Seattle area, he has played all over the west coast, Canada and Alaska. Locally he has played many of the northwest festivals including Bumbershoot, Bite of Seattle, Bellevue Jazz Festival and Northwest Wine Festival.
